🎙New Feature: “Nutrition & Your Light” on Gathering For Impact with Kristin Andrus

I’m always so grateful for any opportunity to talk about health—especially the kind that goes deeper than appearance or trends.

Today’s post is extra special because it involves a very dear long-time friend of mine, an old college roommate and confidante for life! Thank you, Kristin Andrus, for your efforts to make the world a brighter, safer, and more inspiring place. Your work at @gatheringforimpact continues to shine light—literally and figuratively—into so many lives.

We had this discussion over a year ago, but it needs a permanent place on this blog as a reminder to anyone that health is more than just physical; it’s linked to practically everything and matters more than we realize.

When it comes to TRUE health and wellness, I believe it’s about so much more than the way we look. Real, lasting health runs deep. It lives in our bones, our organs, our muscles, and even our sinews. It’s the strength that allows us to move, think, and show up for our families, our communities, and our callings in life with all the hats we wear.

A behind-the-scenes snippet from an inspiring chat I had with Kristin Andrus of Gathering For Impact. Trust me… you’ll want to hear what this powerhouse had to say.

What True Health Really Means

Our bodies were designed to thrive—and two of the most excellent tools we have are food and movement. When we nourish our bodies with real food and keep them moving daily, we support clarity of mind, balanced hormones, and a calm, steady spirit.

And here’s something I feel deeply in my soul:
LIGHT powers our entire bodies.

  • Light from the sun grows the food that nourishes our cells and strengthens our immune systems.

  •  Light from the sun regulates our sleep and wake cycles, which directly impacts how our hormones and metabolism function.

  • **Light helps us see clearly—**both physically and spiritually. It illuminates the path that connects us to people, purpose, and the moments that truly matter.

  • Light attracts light.

So how can we use our physical bodies to hold and acquire more of it?
By caring for them intentionally—through nourishment, rest, movement, and gratitude.

Our bodies are one of the greatest gifts we’ve been given. The way you care for yours truly matters.

If you’re not sure where to start, let me introduce you to something I call the “Tree of Health.”
It’s a simple, visual way to understand how nutrition, movement, light, and mindset all work together to support long-term wellness—rooted in gratitude and growth.

You can watch and learn more about this idea in my 30-minute chat with Kristin Andrus on her Instagram:
